(1979/2000) Frank Herbert and Bill Ransom, Millennium, £6.99, pbk, 405pp
A rather confused and waffling book about a sentient computer/ship demanding worship from engineered human colonists, already beseiged by the deadly life forms of the world Pandora. It’s very difficult to pick out a coherent plot-thread, and more difficult still to find a character one can sympathise with. This one is probably best left alone.
