(1997) Stephen Baxter, Voyager, £6.99, pbk, 460pp, ISBN 0-00-649812-4
This is the collection of Baxter's short stories in the Xeelee sequence, which contains the novels Raft, Flux, Timelike Infinity, and Ring. Personally, I enjoy the universe very much and had never managed to track down all these stories before (not least because a few of them appeared only in small press magazines), so this was a very welcome addition to my Baxter collection. If you're already familiar with the Xeelee books, this is a pleasant romp through the timeline, and if you're not familiar with them, then this collection is a good introduction to the novels.
There's not much to add to that, really, except to praise the high degree of consistency, in terms of both overall plot and quality throughout. Read it.
